Dear Members:
First, I would like to thank all of our members for a great pool season in 2010. I also want to thank Boy Scout Dominic Sullivan for building CCERA four new picnic tables for the members to enjoy this year!
Enclosed you will find your membership renewal packet for the 2011 season. If you register by April 1st for a Family, Couple, Senior or Pre Senior membership, you will receive a $50 discount off the regular membership price. Please see the enclosed Rates and Benefits Chart for exact rates. Memberships are valid from May 1 to April 30 of the following year per Article IV of the Bylaws.
The board is happy to announce that the price of membership will stay the same as last year. However, I would like to point out that our membership income is not adequate to maintain CCERA property, run the pool during the summer season, and purchase necessary replacement equipment, or make major repairs. Last year we had great success with our raffle and raised over $3,000. This money was used to purchase lounge chairs for around the pool.
We are asking all members to participate in our fundraiser to replace the Pavilion roof. In your membership packet you will find 2 raffle tickets. We are asking all members to either sell the 2 tickets or purchase the tickets as a contribution towards the replacement of the pavilion roof for the pool area. Members found these tickets easy to sell last year by letting people know that CCERA is a not for profit organization. CCERA also allows local nonprofit organizations to use our hall and pool at no charge. We need everyone’s help in this fundraiser. If you could sell or buy more than two tickets, please contact Paul Shannon at 410-761-0243. The stubs and money for sold tickets need to be returned to CCERA by May 1st, 2011 so that the roof can be replaced by opening day.
As you know, it takes volunteers to prepare the pool for opening day. We sincerely thank everyone that has volunteered in the past and ask that all members volunteer this year, even if it is only for a few hours. Young adults are welcome as there are jobs for everyone and it is considered community service and looks great on College and job applications. Pool clean up will begin on Saturday, April 23rd from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and each Saturday and Sunday until opening day. There are several hundred hours of clean up and maintenance work to be done. If you could contact me at 443-223-3231 to tell me which day that you wish to work, it would be much appreciated, but please know that you can simply show up on any of
our clean up days. A list of jobs that need to be completed will be posted on our website prior to April 23rd.
Thank you for your interest in CCERA. Attached to this letter is the 2011 Membership Application. Don’t forget to mail your membership application to CCERA, P.O. Box 142, Glen Burnie, Maryland 21060 by April 1st to qualify for our early bird discount. I look forward to seeing you soon at the pool and other CCERA social functions.
Starting in 2011 CCERA will be issuing a new pool pass that will not require you to carry your cards. The new system will be a Photo Membership Card that the guards will have on file. This will require you to submit a family photo of all members, or have a digital one taken at the pool. The only cards that will be issued to the member are for the use of the Boat Ramp. A Boat Ramp card and key is issued when the Vehicle and Trailer information is provided on the application.
